She entered health care as a nurse in 1975, and continues her career in nursing alongside her work as a massage therapist. More InfoHow Does Massage Work?
The process of therapeutic touch triggers a neuro-physiological response that helps the body relax and rejuvenate. The repeated action of massage gradually eases any tension within the muscle and helps to lengthen them to their original state. Benefits of massage are also evident in improving lymphatic drainage and blood circulation and therefore improving overall health and reducing the likelihood of ill health.
